Living to 100
Originally part of a Harvard study of centenarians, the Living to 100 Life Expectancy Calculator© was designed to translate what we have learned from studies of centenarians and other longevity research into a practical and empowering tool for individuals to estimate their longevity potential.
A site dedicated to issues faced by people 50+ (although the site really seems to be for those 60+).
With Kiva you can lend money to an entrepreneur in the developing world, which allows them to lift themselves out of poverty. You do not make money on the loans, but after they are paid back, you can loan the money again, or take your money back via check. Loans can be for as little as $25. This is an amazing program - highly recommended.
The Kirksville Daily Express
This is our local daily paper. The news is never in the stories so much as it is in the comments left by people who know the backstories and the people involved. Endlessly entertaining.
Der Spiegel International Edition
A European take (although thankfully in English) on international news, business, and the general zeitgeist.
